Today...I Begin A New Adventure

It’s been a week with highs and lows; let’s just say hurt back and a new job.  I’m not sure what happened but I have had some severe back pains and been on the verge of sobbing.  It seems as though most of the pain is ending and now I’m just left with soreness & a few pains here than there.  With that said, my husband has been taking great care of me and has understood the pain I’ve been in.  I am glad and thankful that I’m on the recovering end.  Even with back pains, I put on my happy face and went for an interview at which I was hired.  I’m super excited about the new challenges that are ahead of me and I’m looking forward to my new job.  For the past ten years I’ve worked in an office and have sat behind a desk.  My new job is being a server at a busy restaurant, which I am extremely excited about.  The last time I worked tables was when I was in my early twenties, which means some things will come back quick and then I’ve also got a lot to learn.  One of the main things I’m looking forward to is that I’ll be up and moving instead of sitting behind a desk.  I know there will be long days and some aching feet, but I truly think this job will make me happy.  Since I’m a people person and like being in the center of attention, I feel as though I should excel at this job.  Plus I’ll still be able to have a life and do other things that I want to do.  I’m going for orientation today & can’t wait to start on my new adventure.

Ps…by the way…I love the knock off Clorox Cleaner that I mixed up…it works great!

Knock off Clorox Cleanup

Thanks to Pinterest, I found something that I just mixed up and going to try out.  It’s a knock off of Clorox Cleanup.  After doing some researching and knowing that the recipe needed to be tweaked, this is what I came up with.  Some recipes called for dish detergent to be mixed with bleach and most dish detergents have ammonia in them, therefore it can be lethal. There were some that called for laundry detergent, fabric softener, and hand soap.  I decided to go with laundry detergent since I knew it can be mixed with beach and since I love life, the mixture would not kill me.

Knock off Clorox Cleanup
1 Empty Plastic Spray Bottle (I used my empty Clorox Cleanup Bottle)
1/4 Cup Bleach (I used Target Brand Bleach)
1 Teaspoon Laundry Detergent (I used Tide)
Fill the bottle the rest of the way with Water.
Shake Bottle each time before use...spray & clean away.

Oh How I Love...Pinterest

The internet is a place where one can go for many different reasons.  Some go to learn and research when others go for entertainment.  I use it a lot for all types of different things, and I’m thankful to have it.  Lately there has been a website that takes up a lot of my time, and to be honest I’m not upset about it.  It makes me happier, smarter, wiser, craftier, and more outgoing.  That website is called Pinterest & it holds a dear place in my heart.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Since it’s the day of love, I figured I’d do something I love to surprise my two Valentines.  My husband and stepdaughter love sweets, so what better way to say I love you with a sugar overload?  David loves rice crispy treats & Lauren loves marshmallows; so therefore I was able to supply both.  Add some candy melts & sprinkles, and this is what the end product turns out to be.

Ft Mountain & our new camper...

On Friday which marked 5 months of being married, we picked up our new camper.  Camping is something that we truly enjoy and having a camper that has lots of space and is easy to use, will allow us to camp more often.  We didn’t inform my Girly Girl that we were getting it or going camping, since we wanted to surprise her.  When David picked her up from school and drove up in the driveway, she didn’t first see it but soon noticed it.  The look on her face was priceless and her excitement was over the top, just what we were hoping to see.  We went camping on top of Ft Mountain in Chatsworth GA, which is a great campground.  Though this weekend was one that full blast winter wanted to finally arrive, meaning good thing the camper had a heater that would run us out.  It was so cold that the condensation on the camper windows froze and formed ice sickles.  We also had a bottle of water in our truck and it froze solid over night, now that screams cold.  Even though it was freezing, we made the best of it and enjoyed our first weekend camping in our new camper.  My brother & sister in law, nieces, sister, and Patty came up for a camp fire.  It was fun hanging out with them and standing around the camp fire.  My sister and oldest niece spent the night, and with 3 adults and 2 kids, there were plenty of room in the camper.  Here are a couple of pictures of our new camper.

Instagram

I’ve been introduced to Instagram on my iPone and so here is my intro into using it.  I’m hoping to post an Instagram once a week to help with sharing some things that have been going on in my life throughout the week.

Instagram is an app that allows you to take pictures and play with filters, in turn makes them have a different finish...looks like I'll be spending some time playing with this iPhone app.

Cleaning My Day Away...

Today has been a day full of cleaning. First thing this morning I was outside cleaning out an extra fridge that is stored out in our garage.  It is about to find a new home where it can be used instead of just sitting outside.  Next was to clean out the pop up camper, so that it can be closed back up.  Then I was able to surf Pinterest for awhile, and found a way to clean our dishwasher.  Granted it gets used a lot but I’ve never “cleaned” it, until now.  Someone posted that by putting a cup of white vinegar on the top rack and running the whole cycle will clean it.  Therefore right now it’s being cleaned and I’ll have to see how well it works.  By the way, I also saw that white vinegar also cleans a humidifier, which will be my next project.  Now to go on the hunt for a washing machine since ours decided to die.  Happy happy joy joy!

Well Hello February…

Today marks the first day of the second month of 2012.  Here’s to a month full of love and adventures.  I’m looking forward to sharing all types of adventures and enjoying them along the way.  If February is anything like January, then it’ll hold lots of firsts and busy days.  My life really can’t get much better than it is right at this very minute.  I love my husband and stepdaughter with all my heart & soul.
