Goodbye 2012...Hello 2013

December has come and gone, and today makes one year since I started this blog.  I would have liked to blog more, but sometimes life takes center stage and living it out is more important than documenting it.  Here are a couple of pics from Christmas...

Though with that said, I have enjoyed 2012.  It seems strange that today is the last day of the year and tomorrow starts a brand new year.  Not only does it start a new year, it starts our family vacation.  The Hubs, Girly Girl, JJ, and I are venturing out and having ourselves a good time.  We are going to visit my family in South GA & then going on a 4 day cruise.  I can’t wait to see what the new year brings and what memories we make on our vacation.

First Round of Christmas Photos

On Tuesday evening…I had the pleasure of capturing my Girly Girl in a couple of Christmas photos.  I love being creative and coming up with new ways to photograph Christmas lights which can be a pain.  Here are a couple of the shots that I was able to get, take notice of my beautiful subject!

Pepper Ann’s Christmas Shoot 2012...

If anyone knows me, then they know I love and treasure my family.  I’m appreciative for The Hubs & My Girly Girl and that’s just the tip of all things good.  This little dog has brought me lots of smiles and laughs.  It’s amazing how much an animal can bring one joy and happiness, I’m super glad we found her back in 2010.  With a little experimenting and patience (love the yawn),  I was able to capture a couple shots of my Pepper Ann.  Enjoy….

By the way…today is my 34th Birthday and spending time with my family & capturing moments in time with my camera…is right there at the top of my “It’s My Pleasure” to do list.

Welcome Back Holly 2012

With Thanksgiving one week away and only 40 days to Christmas, Holly has made her grand entrance.  She brings all of us smiles and gives us lots of hope.  The Girly Girl asked two weeks ago when Holly may be coming, and now her wait is over.  All of us will now be looking for her each day and to discover her clever ways of returning from reporting to Santa. Woohoo…bring on the holidays!!

~~Holly brought an official letter from Santa with her, I’m super glad that my Girly Girl is on the Nice list.~~

Happy 1 Month…

Last month I had the pleasure of going to FL for a wedding of two friends, which I was super excited about.  On the beach at sunset was amazing and made for a beautiful wedding.  This was a great day for two wonderful souls to be united as husband and wife.  Here are a couple of pictures that I was able to capture.

Halloween 2012

My Girly Girl just celebrated her 10th birthday & according to her, this was her best Halloween ever.  I like to think that is because she spent it with the Hubs & I but I know it’s because she got to go Trick or Treating with her travel softball team lol.  We got to experience Halloween night with her coaches and teammates, which ended in a hay ride around neighborhoods and lots of laughter.  I’m so glad that my Girly Girl had a blast & made lots of memories.  She decided to go with “Madd Hatter” as her costume and I think she was super cute.  After her wearing her costume to school that day, I wanted to jazz her up with hair & a little makeup.  If I have to say so, she turned out to be beautiful and sassy.  I love her more than life itself.  Halloween 2012 was one that goes down in the history books.

Happy November 2012

I’ve taken another break while trying to work out a few different important things in my life.  Well maybe with this post…I’m back at blogging with a smile on my face.

November is already into it by 10 days…this is my favorite time of the year…it is so exciting and holds a special place in my heart.  Thanksgiving is 12 days away, which makes me both happy and a little sad.  Here is the reason behind the happiness because I have lots of things to be happy for; and sad because my family is broken up into six hour differences.  Getting older and starting a family of my own has meant that I have different priorities than just hitting the road and going where I want to go.  I am thankful for my family and the relationships that we have.  Love is the greatest treasure in life that anyone can have.

Here is a picture that in my mind officially marks the beginning of the holidays, this is the Hubs & mine differences in what brings us holiday happeniess.  I’ll be back soon to post more of our outrageous holiday adventures.

A Week In Review...

This past week was a very challenging one, with me taking on a lot more responsibility at work.  The teacher that I work with was out sick and I had to wing it.  Actually I must say that I did a pretty awesome job and even though it was stressful at times, I truly enjoyed it.  It’s amazing how rewarding teaching is and I love waking up at 5am knowing that I’m going to teach some special little kids something new.  If I’ve not mentioned it, I love my new job.

Last Saturday my Girly Girl’s travel ball team held a car wash to raise money for her team.  They did a really good job and raised more than $500 which is pretty cool.  The Girly Girl and I spend a some quality time making her car wash poster, which I must say turned out pretty amazing.

On Monday, the 10th David & I reached our one year of being married.  I love the Hubs with all my heart, even though the ups and downs.  Life is good and I’m enjoying the ride.

Happy Labor Day & National Empty Chair Day

Here it is, September 3rd and the end of Summer.  I can’t begin to say how much I love the next few months. It’s this time of the year that makes me truly happy, it means we are closer to cool crisp weather and the holidays.  It’s been a pretty great Summer in our house. We went on an amazing vacation, and I got a new job, not to mention the day to day great things that happened.  So here I am, saying farewell to Summer and Looking forward for the fall to begin.  Here’s a little something to celebrate the day.

Mrs. Shannon...

Tomorrow starts a whole new chapter in my life; I am starting a new job.  One that I’ve always been super interested in doing, but didn’t know how to go about making it come about.  I’ll be known as Mrs. Shannon and I’ll have some kindergartener’s looking up at me.  Tomorrow I start as a teacher’s assistant at The Goddard School, it’s going to be an amazing journey.  I’ll be blogging about my adventures into the world of Kindergarten and just how awesome it can be.  I’ve got high hopes, but also know there will be some lows along the way.  Being as crafty as I am, I can’t wait to share that with little souls that I know I’m going to get attached to.

GG’s Photo Shoot…

This past Friday evening, I had the time and pleasure to take my Girly Girl out and do a photo shoot.  She was a joy to shoot and I got a lot of awesome pictures of her…here are a few!
